3 BASIC TENETS TO LIVE BY:

  • Do no harm
  • Compassion for every living thing
  • Gratitude

DO NO HARM
Always search every action for motive and intent.  And, should there be any; self serving, revengeful or harmful motive, stop and reconsider.  We cause harm and shrug it off.  We cause harm and laugh about it. We cause harm and brag about it.  Because we can feel pain and suffering, we can imagine the pain and suffering of others.  And because we have choice over our actions, we should always try to give thoughtful consideration to all our actions.  We should always strive to consider how our actions will affect the world we share with everyone and everything around us.

GRATITUDE
Gratitude comes about when we are aware of a situation that affects us either physically or emotionally. When expressing Gratitude, we are thankful for that experience because we grow spiritually. There can never be any judgment on the experience that we show gratitude for.

COMPASSION
We must first have compassion for ourselves and as we live our lives we  often become more  self critical.  One of the most important things to realize in order to align ourselves with our spiritual self is that life is about suffering.  Life will  invoke measures of suffering that people never anticipated.  The only way that we can reduce our suffering is by understanding ourselves better.  People do bad things and get evil responses and people do good things and still get evil responses.  There is no fairness in this world.  But, overcoming suffering is the only way to truly know yourself .  Life is imperfect and humans seem driven by desire, anger and stupidness.  The only way to truly reach a peaceful state of mind is by accepting that life is not perfect, neither are we and as long as we practise the  3 principles of : Do no harm, Compassion, and Gratitude,we can attain balance in our live that will lead up to enlightenment or whatever ultimate spiritual principle you hold for yourself.

We are always coming into challenges: our fears, our jealousies and our resentments.
